Purpose of formation of UP NON-OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION
UP The Non-Olympic Association is a sports association recognized by the Department of Sports, Uttar Pradesh. The main objective of this organization is to advance ancient, folk, traditional and rural sports so that rural, community entertainment, development of sportsmanship, healthy mentality, mutual reconciliation, development of body and mind and development by providing cheap employable sports and entertainment resources. To create awareness and bring forward rural talents.
Our sports union is working on the mission of identifying such ancient games in the state which are on the verge of extinction in today’s glamor era. Our organization wants to keep the existence of traditional, ancient, rural and non-Olympic games and folk arts in the country and the state, and by popularizing them, to take forward the campaign of providing international status so that such Indian sports can get a place in the Olympic Games.
UP The Non-Olympic Association was formed on 2 August 2002. UP The first General Meeting and Delegate Conference of the Non-Olympic Association was held on 29 September (Friday) 2000 at Gomti Hotel Lucknow, in which Uttar Pradesh as the chief guest. The Governor of K, His Excellency Vishnukant Shastri ji was present. The program was presided over by Dr. Yogendra Narayan, Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh. The government did UP The founding members of the Non-Olympic Association were Dr. Kashmir Singh, IPS, Shri PL Punia, IAS, E. Masood Siddiqui and AK Saxena etc. 27 sports federations are affiliated with our association and district units have been formed in 17 districts of the state. The organization also has a savings account open and is also exempted under 80 (G) by the Income Tax Department.
Objective/Mission of formation of UP NON-OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION
Traditional, ancient, rural UP of the country and the state. To preserve the existence of non-Olympic and folk arts and to give them international status by popularizing them, the UP Non-Olympic Association is running a mission / campaign. The main objective is to get back the identity of these games and to include these games and their players in the Olympic / Commonwealth Games by providing facilities in the Indian environment. It is worth mentioning that in our country about 135 sports and more than 70 traditional and popular regional games are played in the state. Since these games have not got the desired place in the Olympic/Commonwealth Games, such games are getting lost in the era of glamor nowadays. UP The Non-Olympic Association is determined to identify and discover such traditional, popular, rural sports, organize their competitions and provide them international status by providing all kinds of assistance to their players.
